FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a shutoff valve with a double plate, in which movement of plates (8, 9) in housing (1) is performed by means of a plate manipulator capable of changing the position at least of one of the valve plates relative to its initial position relative to central plane (5) owing to moving upper holder (11) of plates relative to lower holder (10) of plates. Mutual relative movement of plate holders is performed automatically during opening and closing of the valve. Both holders (10, 11) of plates are connected to both plates (8, 9) of the valve by means of a lever structure containing an upper link and a lower link. Upper link includes the first and the second upper elements (12, 13). The first upper element (12) is attached in a rotating manner to upper holder (11) of the plate and to one of the valve plates (9), and the second upper element (13) is attached in a rotating manner to upper holder (11) of plates and to other plate (8) of the valve. Lower link includes the first and the second lower element (14, 15). The first lower element (14) is attached in a rotating manner to one of the valve plates (8) and to lower holder (10), and the second lower element (15) is attached in a rotating manner to the other valve plate (9) and to lower holder (10) of the plates.
