FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for limiting intensity of laser radiation consists of a housing directed along the direction of propagation of radiation and having two converging lenses in the focal plane of which there is a sealed cell filled with inert gas. The first of the lenses is placed on the input face of the housing and the second is placed after the sealed cell. On the other face of the housing after the second lens there is a filter with a nonlinear absorber.
EFFECT: increasing protection of optical systems from high-intensity laser radiation at the input of the limiter, longer service life of the device.
