METHOD OF INCREASING SUBMARINE HULL SURVIVORSHIP Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC B63B43/16 B63B3/13

Abstract RU 2482004 C1

FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to method of damage control in case of hull breach. Method of increasing survivorship of ship including structural inner shell and outer lining making interhull space communicated with ambient medium and divided by structural elements into compartments is based on sealing hull breach by elastic strap. Device to recovery of submarine null functionality is arranged in interhull compartments and composed of one, preferably, two-three layers of elastic strap with one edge locked at interhull space structural element to allow displacement of strap free edge in normal to hull surface and, at least, along said surface in one direction. With hull integrity broken, pressure difference caused hereby displaces the strap shifting strap hole relative to hull hole to cover it and seal the hull.

EFFECT: simplified process, faster recovery.
