FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: examination of the inner structure of sawing logs is carried out on index of moisture distribution in different areas of sawing logs, using the method of magnetic resonance imaging, and the areas of heartwood and sapwood parts of sawing logs are defined, the border is set between them, and the cutting of sawing log for sawn wood products on the basis of the results obtained is carried out taking into account minimising the number of sawn wood products including both areas.

EFFECT: providing the ability to carry out the examination of the inner structure of sawing logs by the method of magnetic resonance imaging on index enabling to increase efficiency of sorting technologies, hydrothermal treatment, mechanical treatment of sawing logs, technology of drying the sawn wood products and peeled veneer, and also glueing of sawn wood products by increasing the quality of the resulting materials.
