FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of reducing laser generation existence domain involves bringing the required value of the laser generation existence domain is brought into conformity with the difference between active medium gain, the controlled ratio between pumping intensity and depopulation of the upper or lower energy level, and main resonator losses which are varied selectively on the frequency range by the action of additional external or internal optical resonators for the operating transition connected to the main resonator. The action of the additional resonators occurs only through an auxiliary optical transition, having a common energy level with the operating transition, wherein radiation at the operating transition from external resonators is essentially not returned.
EFFECT: enabling reduction of the laser generation existence domain without deterioration of generation at the main laser transition.
