FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: in the method with the help of a measured current value and a measured voltage value a measured start value is generated, which is compared to the specified limited start value, and an error signal is generated, if the measured start value reaches or exceeds the specified limit start value. Besides, the measured start value is generated using zero current and zero voltage, and also a time derivative of zero current. At the same time the measured start value is determined by means of summation of at least three auxiliary voltage values, from which the first is formed by multiplication of the time derivative of zero current by the first auxiliary ratio, the second one - by multiplication of zero current by the second auxiliary ratio, and the third auxiliary voltage value is formed by multiplication of zero voltage by the third auxiliary ratio.
EFFECT: increased sensitivity.
