SUBSTANCE: communication device includes multiple microphones and a sidetone feedback notification module for producing a notification signal, which is connected to the microphones. The notification signal is based on a combination of input audio signals from the microphones and the sidetone feedback notification module generates a notification signal before separating the speech signal from the non-speech signal. Furthermore, the communication device includes a notification device which provides a feedback signal to the user based on the notification signal, which is connected to the sidetone feedback notification module. The feedback signal provided to the user based on the notification signal can be an audio, visual or tactile signal.
EFFECT: enabling a user to listen to a transmitted audio signal so as to evaluate signal quality.
