FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to deposit transparent quartz glass used in optics, lighting engineering, chemical industry etc. The method involves crushing, grinding and exposing the grit to microwave fields with power of 240-360 W for 1-2 minutes, followed by two-step separation first in an electromagnetic field of a separator with field strength of 460-960 kA/m and then in an isodynamic field with strength of 1020-1450 kA/m. Further, the quartz grit is then exposed to microwave fields with power of 540-900 W for 3-5 minutes. The nonmagnetic part of the cleaned grit is then quenched, scrubbed, washed with dionised water and treated with 20-30% hydrofluoric acid solution for 50-60 minutes. The end product is washed and dried in a vacuum. The method enables to obtain fine cleaned grit with impurity content of 31-35 ppm from off-grade natural quartz material. The method widens the mineral raw material base of quartz material and increases utilisation of mineral resources.
EFFECT: beneficiation method is simple, cheap, energy-saving and environmentally safe.
