FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing oligomers of higher linear α-olefins by catalytic oligomerisation of linear C6-C14 α-olefins. The catalyst used is zeolite Y-BS in H-form, which is granulated without binding substances, in amount of 5-30 wt % with respect to the α-olefin. The reaction is carried out at 130-200°C without a solvent. The degree of ion exchange of Na+ for H+ in the zeolite HY-BS is 0.4÷0.93.
EFFECT: method simplifies oligomerisation of α-olefins; reduces energy and material consumption of the oligomerisation process; enables to synthesise oligomers of α-olefins whose composition mainly includes compounds with an alkyl naphthene structure; enables to obtain oligomers with a wide molecular weight distribition.
