FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: switching unit (1), preferably a power switch, comprises at least one input terminal (2) and at least one output terminal (3) for connection of electric conductors, and also the first switching contact (4) and the second switching contact (5), which in the closed position close a current circuit between the input terminal (2) and the output terminal (3), and a splitting device (6) in case of overload for separation of the first (4) and the second (5) switching contacts. The splitting device (6) in case of overload comprises at least one bimetallic element (7), which is heated by electric current. In the zone of fixation (8) of the bimetallic element (7) there is at least one thermal insulator (9). The bimetallic element (7) is connected with the first conductor (10) with the help of at least one connecting rivet (12), besides, the thermal insulator (9) comprises the connecting rivet (12) for reduction of heat release from the bimetallic element (7).
EFFECT: improved accuracy of actuation and extent of reproducibility of switching unit disconnection, and adjustment of a splitting device in case of overload.
