METHOD FOR BUILDING PROPORTIONALLY HARMONIOUS GARMENT MODEL SHAPES Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A41H3/00

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to garment manufacture, in particular - to design of garment models of complicated special shape to fit standard and individual consumer figures. In the method for building proportionally harmonious garment model shapes a formalised artistic sketch is adapted to a person's figure by way of correction of the sketch vertical and horizontal parameters with the help of proportioning grid based on A-lozenge with subsequent determination of harmonious position of structural and decorative levels of garment models and the model technical sketch building; additionally, a second proportioning grid is used wherein the input parameter is the maximum horizontal size of the figure; one superimposes the grid over the figure outline, matching the figure upper horizontal with the neck base points at the side, determining the levels of harmonious horizontals whereat the figure outline sizes are measured. Then the source standardised ketch is conventionally divided into fragments along structural and/or decorative lines, outlining the fragments with elementary geometrical figures with parameters of the latter determined; relying on the obtained sizes of the figure outline and the geometric figures parameters one selects similar geometric figures having harmonious proportions; then one superimposes such figures over the outline, matching them with the proportioning grids horizontals, thus obtaining a harmonious graphical structure of the model being proportioned, based whereon a technical sketch of the garment model is created.

EFFECT: extension of opportunities for creation of harmonious garment models by way of elaboration of a system for simple and complicated shapes proportioning which enables not only harmonious model levels setting but also such model outline structural components proportioning which harmonises the shape as a whole.
