FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: steel contains the following, wt %: C 0.005 or less, Si - 2 to 4, Mn and V in total 11 or less, Al 3 or less, Fe and inevitable impurities are the rest. Concentrations of Mn and V in the thickness direction correspond to the following expression: 0.1 < (XsMn.v - XcMn,v) / tMn,v < 100, where XsMn,v means a sum of Mn and V concentrations on the surface of a steel plate, XcMn,V means a sum of Mn and V concentrations in the centre of the steel plate, ans tMn,V means depth, mm, from the steel plate surface to the position, in which the sum of Mn and V concentrations is equal to XcMn,v.

EFFECT: use of the proposed steel allows complete reduction of losses in a core in a high-frequency range.
