FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: newborn's peripheral blood is examined for magnification of malondialdehyde (MDA), and newborn's erythrocyte membrane β-spectrin is determined by disk electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel (10%) with sodium dodecyl sulphate; a discriminant function is calculated by formula as follows: Df=(-9.236×β-spectrin)+(+19.029×MDA). When Df is more than -24.03, erythrocyte membrane instability is stated that creates a threat of erythrocyte destruction and developing foetal anaemia.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of the assessment of an influence of herpes virus infection on erythrocyte membrane stability in newborns of the mothers suffered aggravated herpes virus infection in the third trimester of pregnancy.
