FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: newborn's peripheral blood is examined for a gain of erythrocyte count up to 75.5% with their membranes containing 97.9±2.5 standard units of fatty acid peroxides (FAP), and β-spectrin (%) is measured in newborn's erythrocyte membranes by disk electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel (10%) with sodium dodecylsulphate. That is followed by calculating a discriminant function by formula: DF=(+0.211×FAP)+(-6.335×β-spectrin). If DF is more than -21.16, the erythrocyte membranes are stated to be unstable with developing intrauterine anaemia.
EFFECT: higher assessment accuracy.
