FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes operations of rolling of longitudinal corrugations on foil, displacement of foil along a rod and a cylinder, with diameter equal to diameter of a pellet of a fission material, insertion of foil into a bushing hole until it stops against a gate, stop of an electric drive by a signal of light beam coverage through the bushing hole, formation of radial flanging on foil, cutting of the standard fragment of foil, release of the bushing channel by the gate, equipment of the fuel element shell with foil by means of cylinder displacement with the rod or fuel element shell displacement along the axis. The device for method realisation is made in the form of a tube with two holes, equal to outer and inner diameters of the fuel element shell. The bushing is equipped with a unit for formation of radial flanging of foil, the gate and the cylinder fixed on the rod.
EFFECT: simplified foil insertion into a fuel element shell.
