FIELD: physics; nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: nuclear reactor fuel element comprises a shell, compensation volume, core of pellets of fissile material limited by end faces of reflectors. On the shell between the reflectors there is n-number of lengthwise crimps, where n is an integer greater than two, and between the upper end of the bottom of the reflector and compensation volume there is annular corrugation is installed bearing the weight of higher parts.
EFFECT: preservation of symmetry of the heat flow without using inserts.
