FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for making and hardening tools intended for finishing axially symmetric parts, for example, fine-module hard-alloy shaping cutters. Proposed method comprises cryogenic-erosion hardening of the tool to form hard sections and flanking of its edges. Note here that flanking is carried out by electrochemical size machining parallel with the tool axis to depth not exceeding hardening depth at cutting edge.
EFFECT: higher durability and properties.
