SUBSTANCE: friction damper (1) is designed for drum washing machines with centrifugal speed. The damper comprises a housing (2) and a movable pusher (4) mounted in it parallel to its longitudinal axis (2a) and displaced from the housing (2), at its end located in the housing (2) a friction pad is movably mounted. The friction pad (8) or a body carrying the friction pad (8) is provided with a mounting socket (22) for receiving the spacer (23). The friction pad (8) is movably mounted on the pusher (4), the guiding element (20) with prestressing is mounted between the friction pad (8) and the guide surface consistent with it, or respectively, the sliding surface (21), and the spacer (23) is provided to establish frictional-effective geometric parameter (24) and/or for tensioning the friction pad (8) to have an influence on the frictional force between the friction pad and the consistent sliding surface. The spacer (23) is made in the form of a consistent with the friction pad (8) fixing or locking element of the guiding element (20).
