FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: area monitoring is carried out at least from two points arranged on cellular communication masts by means of a thermal imaging camera and a video camera installed so that their axes are parallel, and fixed on a scanning platform arranged on each mast of cellular communication, at the same time images produced in thermal and video channels are sent together with data of angular and azimuthal direction of camera axes, to a central server, where images are converted, which are produced from thermal imaging and video cameras, and data from goniometrical-azimuthal metres located on cellular communication masts, into a system of geographical coordinates, fire sources are linked to geographical coordinates with display on an electronic map of the area, a video image is superimposed onto the image from the camera, and the produced images are displayed as three separate images onto a screen of an operator and/or onto a memory device.

EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities due to increased restrictions of video camera and thermal image resolution, increased view angle and volume of received information.
