FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to plaque reduction systems. The system comprises a device for ultrasound delivery to a focal point of marked tissue less than approximately 15 mm3 and with the intensity in an ultrasonic energy wave focus falling within the range of 500 Wt/cm2 to 3000 Wt/cm2, a temperature controller and a controller positioning and actuating the device for delivery. The controller comprises a processing unit used to measure the temperature of the target object in the focal point based on image data obtained from the temperature controller. A method for increasing the temperature in the target localisation is implemented by means of the system. A method of scheduling the non-invasive tissue temperature increase in a vascular wall leading to the plaque regression comprises the stages as follows: imaging a body area, localising a vascular plaque in the image, localising a plaque base, determining the parameters of ultrasonic energy wave delivery to the focal point for increasing the temperature of the target tissue in the vascular wall and terminating delivery of ultrasonic energy packet waves with the required temperature of the target tissue sufficient for the vaso vasorum reduction or destruction.

EFFECT: using the invention enables inducing the plaque tissue regression causing no vascular tissue injuries.
