SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for local or regional drug delivery. Proposed device comprises an expandable element that has an external surface which comes into contact with the surrounding tissue when the expandable element is expanded. Device holds a liquid formulation containing taxane, ethanol, polyethylene glycol, vitamin E TPGS and water. Ethanol is present in its residual concentration from approximately 0.5 % by weight up to approximately 2 % by weight, the span of concentrations of polyethylene glycol is from approximately 25 % by weight to approximately 50 % by weight, vitamin E TPGS is present in the amount of from approximately 3.75 % by weight to about 7.5 % by weight, the span of concentrations of water is from approximately 1 % by weight to approximately 70 % by weight. Liquid formulation contains the final solution of taxan with the span of concentrations from approximately 0.05 mg/ml to approximately 15 mg/ml.

EFFECT: device is used for treatment of atherosclerosis, including in patients with type 2 diabetes, including restenosis of coronary vessels.
