FIELD: medicine; radiation diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine X-ray density of perivascular adipose tissue by multispiral computed tomography (MSCT). MSCT is performed, and X-ray density of adipose tissue around a proximal segment of coronary artery (CA) is determined. An atherosclerotic plaque composition analysis instrument is used to isolate 20 mm segment of the proximal segment of coronary artery. Thereafter, a round section of adipose tissue with diameter of 3–4 mm is encircled on an axial section of the coronary artery along the lateral wall of the coronary artery, in which X-ray density of perivascular adipose tissue is determined.

EFFECT: method provides a public method for determining density of perivascular adipose tissue according to multispiral computed tomography due to the fact that all measurements during MSCT are performed manually in a certain localization of adipose tissue.
