FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for addition polymerisation of norbornene by using catalysts based on zero-valent nickel, an proton-donor compound (HA) and BF3OEt2. The method is characterised by that the proton-donor compound used in the process is methanol (MeOH), or acetylacetone (acacH), or fluoroboric acid etherate (HBF4·OEt2), the process being carried out in the medium of an organic solvent, for example, toluene, with molar ratio of boron to nickel B:Ni=400:1 and the ratio HA/Ni=9.
EFFECT: method increases efficiency and reduces the cost of the process.
