FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, radiology, dentistry and is intended for analysis of X-ray images, both film and digital, by identification of pathological section by local decrease of bone tissue density, which manifests itself in local darkening of image. Identification is carried out in two stages with application of standard range of brightness values, corresponding to pathological sections of bone tissue. At the first stage correspondence of scales of standard and digital image brightness is established, at the second stage pixels of bone image, numerical value of whose brightness corresponds to standard range. After that area of pathological section is determined by number of fixed pixels taking into account scale of image on X-ray picture. X-ray picture on film carrier must be preliminarily converted into digital form with determination of image scale on picture.
EFFECT: method ensures objective identification of pathological anatomical bone formation, increases accuracy of determination of area of pathological anatomical formation.
