FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to neurosurgery, neuroreanimatology, neurology. Clinical and neurological examination of injured person with severe craniocerebral trauma (CCT) is carried out. In the course of examination the following indices are successively given from 0 to 3 points: wakefulness level, motor activity and muscle tone, pupil reactions and movements of eyeballs, corneal reflexes and cough reflex. Obtained points are summed up. If the sum is 8-9 points, starting compression of pyramidal tracts, located in cerebral peduncle from one side and presence of preserved function of bridge and pons and medulla is determined. If the sum is 5-7 points, presence of expressed compression of cerebral peduncle from one side with preservation of functions of pons and medulla is determined. If the sum is 3-4 points, presence of complete impairment of midbrain functions is determined. If the sum is 1-2 points, impairment of midbrain function and pons with preserved function of medulla is determined. If the sum is 0 points, complete loss of midbrain functions, pons and medulla is determined.
EFFECT: method extends arsenal of means for diagnostics of level of brainstem affection in case of severe CCT.
