FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of collecting and diluting portions of a radioactive solution and versions of an apparatus for realising said method, and can be used in radiochemistry when preparing diluted portions (samples) of radioactive solutions in conditions of heavy boxes and chambers in order to analyse composition of said solutions. The method is based on collecting a small portion of radioactive solution in a thin tube with a tip and feeding a liquid solvent into a second thin tube during the dilution procedure. The free end of the second thin tube is first connected the inner cavity of the first tube above the tip and said tubes are filled with the liquid solvent. Further, the tip of the first tube is dipped into the radioactive solution. The procedures for collecting a portion of radioactive solution and dilution thereof are carried out simultaneously, while pumping the diluted solution from the first thin tube with given flow rate and feeding the liquid solvent into the second thin tube with a flow rate proportionally less than the given flow rate. The coefficient of proportionality is equal to the difference between one and a value which is the inverse of the dilution coefficient. The apparatus has a first thin tube with a tip and a buffer tank connected to it, a second thin tube and a liquid solvent feeder connected to it, as well as a recording and control unit. The free end of the second thin tube is hermetically connected to the inner cavity of the first tube above the tip. The apparatus includes two microsyringes fitted with precision drives plunger drives based on a stepper motor, two controlled flow switches, a liquid solvent holding tank fitted with liquid solvent feeding lines, and a diluted solution outlet line. In another version, the apparatus can be made such that the buffer tank connected to the first thin tube is placed on weights, and the apparatus is also fitted with second weights on which the liquid solvent holding tank is placed, and two micropumps.
EFFECT: high accuracy of the obtained volume of the highly active solution by reducing the dilution error of the collected portion of said solution, simplifying the preparation procedure without the need to transport a sample of the highly active solution to the analysis site.
