SUBSTANCE: method involves using a precoding codebook for controlling transmissions from four antennae of a device, said codebook having a plurality of entries, wherein said entries are such that a single layer is mapped to each selected antenna, said codebook entries having different antenna pair combinations, and one or two antenna pairs are selected for transmission.
EFFECT: reducing overhead costs for signalling in a downlink owing to the small size of the codebook.
