SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication, particularly to multi-beam code books having optimized costs. Method for transmitting a precoder indicator to a network node carried out in a wireless device comprises steps of determining a precoder indicator from a codebook, wherein the indicator comprises a first beam phase parameter and a second beam phase parameter corresponding to the first beam and the second beam, respectively. Phase parameter of the first beam receives one of the first integer number of phase values, and the phase parameter of the second beam receives one of the second integer number of phase values. At least one of the following conditions is met: the second integer number of phase values is less than the first number of phase values and the second frequency granularity is greater than the first frequency granularity. Method includes a step of transmitting a specific precoder indicator to a network node. According to another aspect, the second beam has less power compared to the first beam and the second integer number of phase values is less than the first integer number of phase values.

EFFECT: multibeam codebooks having optimized costs are described.
