SUBSTANCE: method for handover in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) includes: receiving a handover signal, the handover signal including configuration information except a system frame number (SFN), a first evolved Node B (eNB) associated with a target cell, from a second eNB associated with the source cell; initiating reception and processing of a first primary broadcast channel (P-BCH) of the first eNB after receiving a handover command; performing configuration, at least partly, in that degree when SFN of the first eNB is still required; receiving the SFN of the first eNB; and further configuration using the SFN of the first eNB.
EFFECT: shorter handover time.
