FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method of discontinuous reception (DRX) in a wireless transceiving unit (WTRU), includes reception, via the WTRU, of information on parametres of DRX tuning via a radio resources control (RRC) signal, grouping of information on parametres of DRX tuning into a DRX profile, reception, by means of the WTRU, of the DRX activisation information via a medium access control signal (MAC), and using information on parametres of DRX tuning, reacting at the reception of the DRX activisation information via a (MAC) signal.
EFFECT: improvement of discontinuous reception in a radio communication system.
