SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of accelerated cooling and direct hardening of hot-rolled metal, in particular, steel sheets of strips and to device for controlled cooling of hot-rolled sheets or strips with application of selective injection devices for retention of coolant on sheet or strip top surface controlled subject to coolant flow rate.
EFFECT: improved flatness of cooled sheets or strips.
