FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: spectrometer measures near absorption spectra of OCLO, BrO and O3 gases contained in scattered solar radiation propagating at an angle close to the horizontal. Inclined content of OCLO, BrO and O3 gases on the path of said radiation is calculated based on the measured spectra. Total ozone (O3) content is measured using forward or scattered solar radiation. The ratio of total content of ozone to its inclined content is then calculated. The obtained ratio is multiplied by the value of inclined content of OCLO or BrO gas. The obtained product is taken as the total content of the respective desired OCLO or BrO gas in the atmosphere.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and faster measurement.
