FIELD: ecology. SUBSTANCE: nonlinear photochemical processes are stimulated by irradiating the air on the sunny side of the atmosphere with laser radiation whose frequency is in resonance with the frequency of the electron-vibrating transition of molecular oxygen from basic state into metastable state. Said processes result in a more efficient utilization of solar radiation for creating ozone. The laser systems mounted on board the spacecraft, acting on the sunlit air transform molecular oxygen into excited metastable state. Under the effect of sun rays the excited oxygen dissociates into atomic oxygen. The latter, joining the nonexcited oxygen, forms ozone molecules. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
