FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of converting methane to higher hydrocarbons. Described is a method of converting methane to higher hydrocarbons, including aromatic hydrocarbons, involving bringing methane-containing material into contact with a dehydrocyclisation catalyst in a reaction zone in conditions that are effective for converting methane to aromatic hydrocarbons, wherein the dehydrocyclisation catalyst contains molybdenum deposited on particles having average size from about 50 mcm to about 5000 mcm, and density from about 100 lb/ft3 to about 200 lb/ft3.
EFFECT: high output of the conversion process.
