FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyrotechnics and more specifically to incendiary pyrotechnic compositions for burning Bengal candles. The incendiary pyrotechnic composition for Bengal candles contains a nitrate oxidant - meal black powder and barium nitrate, sparking metal powder - ferrosilicium, organic combustible binder which includes phenol-formaldehyde resin, and organic binder in form of a paste which contains first-grade corn dextrin, corn starch, second-grade corn dextrin and potato starch.
EFFECT: invention provides stable combustion of the initiating head of a Bengal candle and guaranteed transfer of heat energy to its functional coating; the pyrotechnic composition of the head of the Bengal candle burns in a stable manner and creates a prolonged firework effect in form of golden-green sparks.
