METHOD OF CARRYING OUT INCISIONAL BIOPSY OF SUBMANDIBULAR SALIVARY GLAND Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B17/00

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to surgical dentistry, and can be applied in diagnostics of diseases which proceed with affection of one or two submandibular salivary glands, such as benign tumours and chronic productive inflammatory processes of submandibular salivary gland. Method consists of preliminary carrying out of infiltration anaesthesia, dissection of skin in submandibular area with 3-3.5 cm indent from its edge. After that, subcutaneous cellular tissue, platysma, capsule of submandibular salivary gland are successively dissected. Next, fragment of salivary gland 0.5×0.7 cm in area id excised in the area of its lower pole. After that dissected tissues, including parenchyma of submandibular salivary gland, are sutured layer-by-layer. Drainage is installed between gland capsule and platysma for 24-48 hours. Drainage can be made in form of rubber strap with dimensions 0.7×5.0 cm.

EFFECT: application of claimed invention makes it possible to increase reliability of diagnosing a number of diseases proceeding with bilateral affection of submandibular salivary glands, preserve function of submandibular salivary gland; eliminate formation of fistulas, eliminate danger of injuring marginal branch of facial and lingual nerves, eliminate probability of injuring facial artery and vein, reduce operation trauma.
