METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRACKING POSITION OF THERAPEUTIC ULTRASONIC SENSOR Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61N7/02 A61B19/00

Abstract RU 2492884 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to systems for tracking a position of a therapeutic ultrasonic sensor. The system comprises a first set of tracking elements found in a first position in a first direction in relation to each other and to an emitting surface of an ultrasonic probe, a second set of tracking elements connected to a patient in a second position in a second direction in relation to each other and a patient's target region, a tracking generator attached to a fixed position in a fixed direction and emitting the tracking energy, a system control unit coupled through the tracking sensors, the tracking generator and connected to the therapeutic ultrasonic probe and detecting whether the therapeutic ultrasonic probe is found in the acceptable position in the acceptable direction in relation to the patient's target region and supplying power to therapeutic ultrasonic probe to start and continue the therapeutic exposure and disconnecting power supply once the probed is found other than in the acceptable position in the acceptable direction, and a tracking guide coupled with the therapeutic ultrasonic probe and the system control unit which is designed to control the guide for the purpose of visually presenting the position and direction of the therapeutic ultrasonic probe in relation to the patient's target region by the visual presentation of a set of visual concentric forms, an indicator element and tracking guides.

EFFECT: using the invention provides the higher clinical effectiveness and provides localisation within the region of interest with the minimal effect of surrounding tissues.
