SUBSTANCE: invention can be applied in chemical and hydrometallurgical industry. Method of separating iron from acidic water solution, which contains ions of bivalent iron, includes supply of acidic water solution into reactor with fluidisated layer (2) with volume steam speed sufficient for effective fluidisation and mixing. In reactor (2) ions of bivalent iron, contained in solution, are oxidised by microbes, selected from group, which includes Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, Leptospirillum ferrooxidans, Acidimicrobium ferrooxidans and Leptospirillum ferriphilum, to ions of trivalent iron. After that, pH of obtained solution is regulated to values from 2 to 4. In concentrator (5) obtained in solution solid substance, which consists of ions of trivalent iron and sulfur, is precipitated Device for realisation of method of iron separation includes concentrator (5), connected to reactor with fluidisated layer (2) through means for regulating pH of solution, namely, reservoir for pH regulation (3) and reservoir-mixer (4).
EFFECT: invention ensures fast and effective iron separation from acidic water solution, over 85%.
