FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: oil-cooled moving seal between engine case and shaft is fitted in said case. Proposed seal comprises ring with radial inner and outer contact surfaces, oil distributor and lube spray outer cone. Oil distributor has inner radial zone communicated with liquid lubricant source. Outer case has a rim arranged inside radially with respect to said inner contact surface. Invention covers also the method of controlling the radial clearance between moving seal and carbon seal in the range of gas turbine operating temperatures. Proposed method comprises selecting the moving seal temperature depending upon engine temperature in the limits of preset temperature range to provide for preset clearance with allowance for difference thermal expansion between moving seal and carbon seal and for keeping the required temperature of moving seal by directing liquid lubricant flow on moving seal surface with control over radial clearance magnitude.

EFFECT: maintaining of required temperature of moving seal.
