FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: active jet projectile comprises a head detonating fuse, a near-screw head, a warhead body, an explosive, a master belt, a dusted rocket engine, an afterburning chamber and a circular air intake. The dusted rocket engine is installed in the stern section of the projectile. The dusted rocket engine comprises a gas generator with a solid propellant charge and a support grid. The afterburning chamber has a type of a ring and is arranged around the gas generator. The solid propellant charge consists of two half-charges of end burning, front and rear. Half-charges face each other with burning surfaces, with formation of a circular cavity between them, which is connected to the afterburning chamber by holes. The front half-charge is placed in the warhead body and is fixed by the support grid made in the form of a metal disc with holes with the diameter d = (2…6) mm. The rear half-charge is placed in the body of the gas generator and is made with smaller diameter compared to the front one.
EFFECT: increased distance of flight of an active jet projectile.
