FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: manipulation of display regions on the working space of a graphic user interface is provided by moving a display region from an initial state to one of a set of improved window states. Initially, an indication to change the size of the display region is received in the operating system, which then calls a suitable window state. The indication may include seizing the edge of the display region and vertical dragging of the edge to a target docking area. Therefore, set up parameters for configuring the state deployed on the vertical are applied such that the display region stretches approximately to the height of the screen.
EFFECT: providing intuitivity and high speed of navigating between window states, more types of display regions, which increase capabilities for accessing predetermined window states.
