FIELD: physics; image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the graphical user interface of a computer operating system. The method and system for visualing a combined desktop model uses apparatus for managing windows of the combined desktop after receiving from an application program, information on base object and content object from one or more content objects, draws out a window in buffer memory and advantages of enhanced graphic hardware and visual effects are used to visualise windows based on the content from which they are drawn out. The frame of each window can be made by shading pixels of the bitmap in form of depolished glass based on desktop content, above which the said frame is displayed. Support of legacy applications is provided so that, the operating system can draw out and visualise windows made by the legacy applications so that they conform to windows of non-legacy applications.
EFFECT: design of a desktop administrator which supports dynamic window architecture with legacy applications.
