SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a tow unit for an on-board electromagnetic aerial photography system, having a semirigid frame for a transmitter loop, which supports the transmitter loop, and a suspension unit for towing the frame of the transmitter loop behind an aircraft. The frame of the transmitter loop is made from a certain number of series-connected frame sections which form a loop. The frame of the transmitter loop has hinge joints in a certain number of places on its periphery, which enable the frame of the transmitter loop to at least partially bend in the hinge joints. The suspension unit includes a certain number of cables and is mounted to the periphery of the frame of the transmitter loop at spaced-part points.
EFFECT: minimising stress in the structure of a support frame of a transmitter loop.
