MAGNETIC-RESONANCE METHODS OF DETERMINING TUMOUR CATEGORY WITH APPLICATION OF MEDIUM FOR VISUALISATION, WHICH CONTAINS HYPERPOLARISED C-PYRUVATE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2494672 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, diagnostics and magnetic-resonance (MP) methods of determining degree of tumour activity, with application of medium for visualisation, which contains hyperpolarised 13C-pyruvate. Signal of 13C-pyruvate and/or signal of its 13C-containing metabolites, selected from group: alanine, lactate, bicarbonate is detected. Said signals and possibly total carbon signal are used to form metabolic profile of tumour, which is compared with known metabolic profile of tumour of certain degree of activity, with determination of its degree of activity, on the basis of similarities and differences between said metabolic profile of tumour and said known metabolic profile. Version of method is determination of degree of tumour activity from standard curve of dependence of said signals on degree of tumour activity.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures determination of degree of tumour aggressiveness, malignancy depending on degree of differentiation of its cells, degree of difference of tumour cells from cells of normal tissue, from which they originated.
