SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely a drive assembly useable in a drug delivery device, preferentially in a pen-type injector used to introduce a certain amount of specific doses of the drug preparation. A drive assembly useable in the drug delivery device comprises a body, an axle, at least one drive link, a piston rod and an indicator. The body has proximal and distal ends. The axle extends between the proximal end and the distal end. The piston rod is movable along the axle using the drive link. The indicator is used to provide the information about on the piston rod position in relation to the proximal end. The indicator and the piston rod are configured to convert the motion of the piston rod in relation to the body into the pivotal motion of the indicator. The indicator comprises a rotation link configured to convert the motion of the piston rod into the pivotal motion of the indicator. The indicator may be connected to the piston rod by the rotation link, and at least a portion of the rotation link is located in the piston rod. The drug delivery device comprises the above drive assembly and a number of doses of the drug preparation.
