FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to design of ice breaker and its propulsion complex. Ice breaker stern comprises body with round-aft, propulsive-steering complex arranged therein and including central propulsive-steering screw set mounted at ship center plane and board propulsive sets composed of whirley screw columns with propellers and inclined stern-post. Said complex is composed of whirley screw-propeller column with screw propeller shifted to aft from the plane of propellers of said columns by distance that allows contactless mutual turn of central and board columns through 360 degrees. All three propulsive units are located at one horizontal site limited by ice ledge inclined to ship center line plane by 30-50 degrees. Ship stern above said ice ledge features ice-breaking nose, while aft lines of said site adjoining the bottom feature wedge-like shape with S-like waterlines. Inclination of ship stern-post to horizon φ makes 15-25 degrees while ship aft waterline entry α at the distance of center line plane equal to 1/4 of ship width makes 38-45 degrees.
EFFECT: better maneuverability and propulsion.
