FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to ice-breaking vessel propulsion complex. Disclosed is an ice breaker, which comprises a body, in the stern of which is located a propulsion-steering complex, comprising a central screw propulsor mounted in a centerline plane of the ship on a propeller shaft and arranged on both sides of it full-aperture propeller-rudder columns. Full-turn propeller-rudder columns are installed with longitudinal displacement aft from the central screw propeller at distance counted from the central screw propeller to the screws discs of propeller-rudder columns equal to 0.8–1.2 of the radius of the central screw propeller, and with displacement to both sides of central screw propeller at distance counted from the edges of central screw propeller to the edges of screws of propeller-rudder columns and making at least 0.7 radius of central propeller.
EFFECT: higher efficiency when moving icebreaker nose forward due to higher thrust of propulsion complex and reliability of its elements.
