FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: tribotechnical test of friction pairs is performed at different loads and critical load and temperature is determined at setting moment. At friction test at critical loads there determined is time before setting of a friction pair; based on obtained results, activation energy of material destruction of surface layer and structural-sensitive coefficient is assessed. Design value of time till setting is used as a criterion of friction compatibility of friction pairs under the specified operating conditions of a friction pair.

EFFECT: improving accuracy and informativity of assessment of friction compatibility of friction pairs.
