METHOD TO EXTEND CONTINUOUS WELDED RAIL TRACK LENGTHS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC E01B29/17

Abstract RU 2495975 C2

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method to extend continuous welded rail track lengths and to give them size corresponding to the size under optimal temperature, includes operations of rail track lengths release from intermediate joints, their heating with a mobile plant and fixing. At a certain distance from the heating plant along its movement they arrange, for instance, a track laying crane with roller anti-tilting grips. Each length is grabbed under the head with the specified grips. Then the length is lifted in the vertical plane at the specified value, thus creating vertically arranged rail waves. The distance between the heating plant and the crane is commensurate to the formed waves. The heating plant and the crane with grips is synchronously moved along the lengths. Arising extension of each rail is arranged in the rail wave, varying its configuration along the height, being fixed with lifting of roller grips. The heating plant is moved to the end of the lengths, and the crane with gripping devices is removed to the adjacent rails. Levelling rails are shortened and joined with the adjacent rails.

EFFECT: temperature stresses are unloaded in rail track lengths, and operating costs for track maintenance are reduced.
