FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method to extend lengths of a continuous welded rail track and giving them size complying with the size at the optimal temperature includes operations to disconnect a rail length from intermediate fixtures, to raise lengths with a certain effort to a rated height, extension of lengths and their lowering with subsequent fixation. Operations are carried out with the help of a track-laying crane. In process of work a length at one side is left fixed. The rail is caught under the rail head by roller anti-canting grips. Lifting is carried out based on the difference between the laying temperature and the optimum temperature to set up a wave with a certain coordinate. After initial lifting of each length with a certain effort at a rated value, the lifting force for each length is left permanent. As a result of a longitudinal effort directed towards the crane displacement, the wave ordinate is increased in compliance with the value of the length extension. The crane is moved along the length to its end, and the length is attached behind the crane.

EFFECT: reduced timing of works performance.
